Dependence on God results in joy amidst the worst cirstances! When did you first notice this change?

In comparison to your life before dependence on God, and after becoming saved, when did you first notice the Gift of Joy provided by the Lord? We can not avoid the stresses of life, but with this joy from Holy Spirit, it will not weaken or cause a feeling of being overwhelmed. Can you remember when you noticed this change?
