Whats the procedure to send a car outside of the USA?

I just bought a used car in Copart and the person who bought it toll me that the car has to stay in the port of linden nj for some doentation, the car is going to guatemala puerto barrios, but im not sure about that so i want to know how long time takes that procedure and what papers has to have the car to go outside of the US
