How do I connect to my home network with my laptop; READ DETAILS FOR THE FULL PROBLEM.?

I have a wireless router hooked up to my PC, I used to be able to get on my own network, but for some reason, when I open my "Connect to a network" window, on my laptop, I see the name of my home network called (linksys-I know I could rename it). Instead of showing -Secured network or Unsecured network, it shows me a message: The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. How do I fix this problem?
