Internet explorer constantly "not responding"?

Recently had a bug that advertised a fake program to purchase to clean up bugs on your computer. After downloading freebie from malwarebytes.org and running a scan, it cleaned it off. But since then, every time I have to input info, i.e. placing internet orders, paying bills, etc., the internet stops responding and restarts automatically. Is there any easy fix?
